Job Overview:
The Principal IT Pillar Specialist is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex IT Pillar-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. They may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and are regarded as a specialist in the field of IT Pillar. As such, they must have in-depth expertise in the IT Pillar as well as broad knowledge of the IT Pillar discipline within the Information Technology function.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Application Development & .NET Web APIs
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using ASP.NET Core (.NET 8/9).
- Implement application security and identity management using Microsoft Entra ID.
- Write clean, maintainable, and asynchronous code utilizing modern C# features and programming paradigms.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
- AI Integration & Foundry Platform Tools
- Assist in building and deploying intelligent AI agents using the Foundry Agent Service and Azure.AI.Projects SDK.
- Connect applications to LLMs and foundational models sourced from the Foundry Models catalog.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) by integrating Foundry IQ for data ingestion and semantic search.
- Run evaluations, track operational metrics, and apply content guardrails through the Foundry Control Plane.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Education: Bachelor's degree /master's in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of software development experience with the Microsoft technology stack.
- Language/Frameworks: Expertise in C#, .NET Core / .NET 8+, and Web APIs.
- AI Platform: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Foundry (formerly Azure AI Studio), Prompt Flow, and Agent Frameworks (e.g., Semantic Kernel or AutoGen).
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Solid experience with Azure app hosting (Azure Container Apps, Functions) and databases (Azure Cosmos DB, SQL).
- AI Coding Tools: Mastery of GitHub Copilot Extensions and setting up context-driven Agent Skills.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT supporting EPCI business applications as a lead or administrator
- Extensive functional knowledge in the Payroll industry and leadership expertise
- Extensive Project Management experience
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as a team leader
- Wide experience with technical tools such as ERP and BI
- Maintain key competencies associated with the IT function
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
- Finance IT SME knowledge of Timekeeping systems, General Accounting, Job Cost Accounting, Sub-ledgers, General Ledger, and Close Cycles
- Knowledge of Tax, Treasury, Audit, Financial Reporting, Project Accounting, Billing & Revenue
