As Principal Information Systems Project Manager, you will report functionally to the SDS Engineering Functional Homeroom.  You will be expected to oversee large-scale, complex projects from inception to completion that span across functional organizations. You will implement strategic project management practices, engage with senior leadership, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical requirements. In addition to leading and directing project teams, you will prepare project execution plans and identify appropriate technical and business resources. 

 This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and support the Sentinel Program.

 
For your daily tasks and direction, you will report to your Assignment Manager. Your Assignment Manager will expect you too effectively:  
 
•    Perform or support in Control Account Manager (CAM) tasks/activities. 
•    Perform or support in Earned Value Management tasks/activities. 
•    Perform or support in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks/activities. 
•    Perform or support in Risk, Issue, Opportunity (RIO) tasks/activities. 
•    Perform or support in Procurement, Purchasing, Supplier Management and/or Contracting tasks/activities. 
•    Perform or support in Resource Management tasks/activities. 
•    Perform or support in Agile (i.e. PI Planning, Backlog Refinement, Jira management, ...) tasks/activities 
•    Perform or support in other tasks/activities required to meet contractual or programmatic requirements.
•    Manage and track status of projects, metrics, financial budgets, and EACs; manage schedules and prepare status reports; and ensure project remediation and ongoing compliance goals are met. 
•    Create, review, and finalize the project Statement of Work (SOW). 
•    Assist the project management leadership team in assessing, documenting, and tracking of all new assigned project requirements. 
•    Prepare project execution plans and identify the appropriate technical and business resources required. 
•    Participate proactively in developing and maintaining standards, tools, and best practices. 
•    Lead and direct the assigned project team to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectives. 
•    Adopt a positive attitude about Agile processes, ensure tasks are flowing from one phase to the next, and facilitate the basics of the process (i.e. transparency, project information is current, impediments are being eliminated). 
•    Maintain an in-depth knowledge of customers life-cycles, standards, and supporting processes and practices. 
•    Develop customer relationships and cultivate customer intimacy. 
•    Candidates will utilize their excellent written and oral communication skills. 
•    Candidates will utilize their problem solving skills with integrated team including but not exclusive to the program manager, functional managers, and customers. 
•    Perform or support in Procurement, Purchasing, Supplier Management and/or Contracting tasks/activities.

Principal Information Systems Project Manager: 5 Years with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 year with PhD an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

•    Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
•    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
•    Must have knowledge/experience of Systems Engineering “V” Life Cycle, or Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
•    Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
•    Must be knowledgeable in Atlassian Suite (i.e. Jira and Confluence).
•    Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
•    Minimum 2 years of experience in managing EVMS projects.
•    Must have experience with project planning, scheduling and cost performance
•    Experience with integrated team including but not exclusive to the program manager, functional managers, and customers 
•    Experience in communicating with various levels of leadership 
•    Experience leading and managing multiple concurrent and complex project assignments 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience as a Control Account Manager or Program Manager with robust Full Criteria Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience (labor, material, Subs, IWOs)
•    Experience with risk and opportunity management 
•    Experience with contract actions and vehicles (i.e. CDRLS)
•    Experience in briefing executive leadership
•    Project Management Certification
•    Agile Certification
•    DAU Certification
•    Active Secret, SAP access 
•    Experience with project management tools and presenting project data such as status, risk, and deliverables to key stakeholders. 
•    Experience leading and managing IT related projects in an Agile environment. 
•    Experience using tools that support agile processes such as JIRA and Confluence. 
•    Experience with Scaled Agile Framework and working as part of an Agile Development (Scrum) team. 
•    Experience with Multiple Agile teams in different organizations. 
•    Experience with risk and opportunity management.

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
