The Role

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Principal Cloud Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and AWS Serverless technologies. The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and automation of modern cloud-native infrastructure and application platforms using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management. You will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and resilient solutions using AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement highly available, event-driven serverless solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, EventBridge).
  • Design and implement highly available, container based solutions using ECS/EKS.
  • Architect scalable and secure cloud-native applications and platforms using modern design patterns.
  • Collaborate with software development and product teams to align serverless infrastructure with application needs.
  • Build and manage reusable Terraform modules for provisioning serverless and supporting AWS resources.
  • Automate serverless application deployments using Ansible for configuration tasks where needed (e.g., IAM roles, secrets, monitoring).
  • Integrate IaC pipelines into CI/CD tools to enable rapid, repeatable, and reliable deployments.
  • Implement IAM policies, resource permissions, and least-privilege access for serverless resources.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, automate audit and monitoring frameworks, and manage secure key handling and secrets storage.
  • Monitor and optimize performance and cost of serverless workloads (e.g., Lambda execution time, API Gateway throttling, DynamoDB capacity).
  • Use tools like AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, Splunk and CloudTrail to trace and improve system reliability and efficiency.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to other engineers.
  • Establish engineering best practices for serverless development, IaC, and automation.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native design principles across teams.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience working on cloud and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.).
  • Expert-level experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Solid experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Experience integrating IaC and automation into CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud cost management.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments or multi-cloud strategies.
