This role of Prin Graphic Designer requires using graphic design skills with proficiency in design software to develop, manage and execute tasks and deliverables specific to medical device labeling products for various projects within the Medtronic Neuroscience portfolio. Responsibilities include creating, updating, and maintaining the graphical-related content as part of the holistic labeling suite, including user-facing instructional manuals and device label content. This role also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure all design elements meet medical and international regulations, such as FDA and ISO standards, and adhere to brand guidelines. Key duties include generating graphical prototypes, managing graphic-related design changes, preparing final print-ready files, and generally ensuring accuracy in technical information portrayed graphically. This role will also include interaction with both Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Content Management system software, and input to language translations. Daily interaction with a team of technical writers and project leaders within the labeling department is expected to support their creation of medical device labeling documentation. The Graphic Designer will also work with cross-functional partners, assessing timelines and gathering input for the graphical nature of the labeling content, including ensuring clarity and consistency of content, including wording, layouts, fonts, and symbols. Projects include R&D new product development as well as sustaining activities/legacy document maintenance for various products produced by the Medtronic Neuroscience portfolio. We’re seeking an experienced, highly organized, and innovative Graphic Designer with a proven track record who can contribute immediately to our projects.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Supports the Neuroscience labeling team in developing and executing project timelines for programs that impact or include creation of labeling graphical content.
Collaborates with departmental and cross-functional peers to ensure proper resolution to graphic-related questions and issues during the development process.
Utilizes Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Content Management system software as it relates to the relevant labeling-related content creation.
Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork.
Develops interpretive themes that convey ideas and information.
Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions.
Uses and provides guidance on graphic technology.
Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost efficient graphic designs through available mediums.
May provide computer graphic services for web artwork.
May also have input on reproduction and printing processes through in-house resources or outside vendors.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience in graphic design or equivalent experience OR
Associate's Degree with 8+ years experience OR
Baccalaureate Degree with 6+ years experience
