This position involves access to hardware, software, technology, technical data, and/or services that may be regulated under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. sanctions laws administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other applicable export control, sanctions, and national security laws and regulations.
As a condition of employment, and where permitted by applicable law, candidates may be required to provide information necessary for the Company to determine whether any export license, governmental authorization, security clearance, or other regulatory approval is required before access to controlled items, technology, technical data, software, or services can be granted.
In addition to U.S. requirements, access to certain controlled information, technology, technical data, products, or services may be subject to export control, sanctions, national security, or similar regulatory requirements in other jurisdictions where the Company operates or conducts business. Any such requirements will be assessed and applied in accordance with applicable law.

Responsibilities
The Principal Global Trade Compliance Specialist supports complex global trade compliance activities involving SATCOM hardware, software, technical data, and technology primarily subject to the EAR and, to a lesser extent, the ITAR. The role advises business teams on export licensing, reexports, intracompany transfers, foreign manufacturing activities, de minimis analyses, technology control requirements, and higher-risk international transactions, including China-related activities. This position also supports subsidiary oversight, data marking requirements, jurisdiction and classification, and cross-border technology transfers across global operations.
Qualifications- 7+ years export compliance in aerospace, defense, satellite, telecommunications, software, or multinational technology companies.
- Strong EAR experience, licensing, classifications, China controls, and multinational operations.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying EAR requirements related to reexports, foreign-produced items, de minimis calculations, and
- ross-border technology transfers
- Experience preparing and managing BIS license applications, CCATS submissions, and export authorization strategies for complex transactions
- Ability to independently assess regulatory risk and provide practical guidance to engineering, operations, supply chain, and program stakeholders
- Experience supporting foreign subsidiaries, contract manufacturers, distributors, or international integration partners preferred
- Familiarity with China-related export controls, technology release considerations, and data handling requirements strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of ITAR jurisdiction/classification concepts and mixed EAR/ITAR environments preferred
Pay Range: $110,000 - $190,000
The ST Engineering iDirect salary range for this position is intended to provide a general guideline for compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and other business or legal considerations. The posted range is not a guarantee of compensation.
Skills Required
