Position Description:
Crafts and develops enterprise digital applications with Model–View–Controller (MVC) design pattern, micro front-end strategy, and open micro service architectures. Implements and deploys front-end and back-end applications using Web technologies HTML/CSS, JavaScript or Typescript, Web components, Node.js, Vue.js, Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Guides the development of stable, robust, and resilient software applications. Builds digital Restful Application Programming Interface (APIs). Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates complex project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing fund information platforms in a banking and financial domain.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing fund information platforms in a banking and financial domain.

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing high volume transaction-based batch processing and event driven applications in Object Oriented Programming (OOP), using Java/J2EE technologies -- Core Java, EJB, JMS, JAX-RS, and JPA; developing Java/J2EE applications, using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, REST, and SOAP Application Programming Interface (API) development; and performing service orchestration using Apigee.
DE migrating mainframe-based applications to distributed applications, using Java/J2EE, Spring, ORM related frameworks, and relational databases -- Oracle and DB2; writing SQL queries; deploying Java applications onto Linux environments; configuring continuous build and automated deployments, using GIT, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and Artifactory; and streaming Java application logs and telemetry tools -- Datadog and Splunk.
DE deploying enterprise applications, using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and Microsoft Azure; defining application observability, using DataDog, Splunk, and Dynatrace; implementing application monitors and alerts, and performing distributed tracing using DataDog; and implementing DevOps and building Continuous Integration (CI) testing practices through CI/Continuous Delivery pipelines (CD), using Groovy, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, and Azure DevOps Services.
DE building Web applications using JavaScript frameworks -- Angular and HTML5; developing Sematic HTML/HTML5 UIs -- defining formatting rules and responsive designs -- according to Bootstrap frameworks, using CSS and SCSS.
