Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join us in the pursuit of top-tier financial performance to the Strategic C3 Systems (SCS) Business Unit. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL and will require being on-site daily.

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

This is a fast-paced high energy environment that requires a self-motivated employee to join the team. The candidate will support the management of the Strategic C3 Business Unit’s Discretionary Investments Portfolio including but not limited to:

  • Support the day-to-day operations for division Capital, Indirect and Non-Contractual Technical Activity (NCTA) projects to include Marketing and Sales (M&S), Bid and Proposal (B&P), and Independent Research and Development (IRAD).

  • The analyst will assist in Capital, NCTA and Indirect activities including: color of money rules, time phasing of the tasks, developing and documenting spend baseline and forecast spend plans, monthly performance measurement, estimate to complete and estimate at complete (ETC & EAC) analysis and updates as well as and variance analysis research and reporting with special attention to Capital Forecasting with a focus on Major Subcontracts, Facilities and General Procurement (GP) developing and reviewing EAC's; incorporation of changes into the system to maintain Major Subcontract/GP cost and schedule accuracy.

  • Provide weekly reporting of actuals, variance explanations to management, coordinating IWOs, coordinating and tracking material open commitments, etc.

  • Analyst will identify pressures and opportunities, and develop recovery plans as required.

  • Support the development of monthly presentations and brief to leadership at various levels.

  • The analyst will support the development of the consolidated Long Range Strategic Plan (LRSP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for Discretionary Investments.

  • Analyze variances/trend weekly/monthly and develop new methods and process techniques.

  • Work under minimal supervision while completing various assignments per schedule and elevating potential issues to ensure proper management focus.

  • Good interpersonal skills while representing the financial team on various projects.

 

Basic Qualifications for Principal Financial Analyst: 

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in business administration, finance, accounting, financial analysis, or industry related fields OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience in business administration, finance, accounting, financial analysis, or industry related fields.

  • Experience with SAP, IBM Cognos software, and/or COBRA.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) 

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related discipline 

  • Expertise in financial analysis 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple activities concurrently, able to quickly adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid changes. 

  • Knowledge of EVMS/FAR/DFARS

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
