We are looking for someone to help drive technical innovation, architectural modernisation. You will be joining at an exciting time for the team and play a key role in the future of the product and how teams are building it.
What will you do- Own and drive the technical vision, direction, and roadmap in collaboration with the Head of Engineering.
- Identify and address system bottlenecks, proactively shaping capacity planning and performance tuning strategies.
- Lead technical deep dives on incidents and postmortems, ensuring learnings are documented and drive systemic improvements.
- Define and uphold engineering excellence standards across performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability in a high-load SaaS environment.
- Lead on a path forward with tech modernisation, introducing new approaches (e.g., architecture, tech stacks) to evolve our current Ruby On Rails stack towards something that enables us to ship faster.
- Drive innovation through technology and best practices
- Partner with the Head of Engineering and the Product Director on shaping the roadmap for the product
- Deep dive and support teams with overall system design and/or particular architectural decisions and choices, when needed
- Drive technical, architectural, and operational maturity
- Collaborate with other product teams and/or DevOps/Security teams when necessary
- Mentor and guide more junior engineers
- Prior experience acting in a technology leadership position and driving change
- Multi/Polygolot full tech-stack experience is required, as this role will require an understanding of a typical Ruby on Rails tech stack and driving a gradual shift of the tech stack.
- Proven experience in scaling and evolving long-lived, high-traffic SaaS applications
- Strong understanding of data-intensive design patterns
- Experience influencing cross-team engineering culture and architectural alignment within growing organizations
- Experienced with AWS
- Clear, async-first communicator with strong written English skills
