Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer.
In this role, you will:
  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • As a Principal Engineer for a suite of internally developed Products, be able to technically own and drive strategic direction of multiple Product lines.
  • Architectural Design: Creating blueprints (diagrams and models) for software systems, defining how components interact, and establishing technical standards.
  • Technology Selection: Choosing appropriate programming languages, frameworks, databases, and infrastructure tools.
  • Strategic Decision Making: Balancing functional requirements with non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Leading development teams, performing code reviews to ensure compliance with standards, and guiding developers on technical implementation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Translating business requirements into technical specifications by working closely with clients, product managers, and developers.
  • System Optimization: Improving existing software systems, analyzing performance, and fixing complex bugs.
  • Significant experience (7+ years) as an architect or technical lead, with a proven track record of designing large-scale, complex applications.
  • Deep knowledge C# and .Net full stack applications with React front-end experience.
  • Proficiency in a cloud platforms (Azure), Kubernetes and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong skills in articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, as well as mentoring developers.
  • Ability to see the "big picture" and make long-term technical decisions that align with business goals.

    Skills Required

    • 7+ years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
