The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position will be located in San Diego, CA at the Rancho Carmel campus.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division. At this campus our Communication/Network Solutions Business Unit creates the next generation of software-defined radios and cutting-edge communication systems. In our on-site development labs, we take ideas from whiteboard to working systems. Our world class manufacturing plant builds those systems for the most advanced defense platforms in the world.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Problem solving and development of solutions to technical problems.
- Testing and data capture of RF and electrical systems.
- Hardware integration and testing of special test equipment.
- Project Planning and execution.
- Design and develop electrical circuits for flight systems.
- Apply research to components, materials and processes.
- Requirements and Specification document generation.
Main
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 5 or more years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 3 years of experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams
- Experience designing and debugging electrical circuits and/or products
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects.
- Experience with RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
- Experience with RF/Digital hardware and software
- Basic Understanding of VHDL Concepts & Programming
- Experience with Hardware Requirements Derivation
- Proficiency with Microsoft software Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio.
- Experience with AWR Microwave Office, LTSpice, Xpedition, Mentor Graphics, LabVIEW, & DOORS would be a plus.
