What you’ll be doing...
We are seeking a Principal Engineer specializing in Software development along with DevOps expertise to lead our infrastructure and platform efforts, driving reliability, scalability, and operational excellence initiatives. In this role, you will:
- Lead and implement large-scale, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems using Kubernetes, AWS, and other cloud technologies.
- Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/alerting capabilities, and reliability features.
- Architect and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with a security-first approach.
- Resolve complex technical issues during the build and deployment of applications across various verticals.
- Analyze production system metrics to drive changes, optimize system utilization, and improve cost efficiency.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect issues before customers report them.
- Execute security tools, analyze vulnerabilities/findings, and work towards remediation with Dev/DevOps teams.
- Participate as a key stakeholder in Incident Response (IR) and Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of software development experience with solid DevOps experience.
- Expert knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS or other orchestration platforms), including but not limited to Service Types, Ingress, Istio, Blue/Green deployments, CoreDNS, CRD, RBAC, Operators, and Helm.
- Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, NAT, IG, Route53, S3, Secret Manager, IAM, ELB/NLB, Lambda, SES, CloudFront, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with databases such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and RDS.
- Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka, Redis, ZooKeeper, etcd, and RabbitMQ.
- Expertise in monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Knowledge of security tools and practices (AWS GuardDuty, CrowdStrike, Tenable, SSL/TLS).
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins and Terraform.
- Development experience in C/C++/Java or Go, plus at least one scripting language.
- Strong Linux command-line skills.
- Experience working in production environments with change management, ticketing systems, and emergency patching processes.
- Proven track record of automating large-scale, complex distributed systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- AWS or Kubernetes Certifications.
- Experience leading DevOps teams in large-scale, global organizations.
- Contributions to open-source projects or industry publications related to DevOps.
