Summary of Role:
This Principal Equipment Engineer will work in the Ion Implant Module at Fab 9, Essex Junction, VT. This engineer will own the daily performance of a diverse set of semiconductor implant equipment types and set the strategic plans for improvements and new equipment. This role is fully onsite at this 200mm waferfab foundry facility, on a Monday - Friday daytime schedule.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure execution of maintenance and tool support ensuring equipment readiness
- Analyze and monitor technical charts
- Ensure and follow good safety practices and custody of tools, equipment and other properties
- Work and collaborate on other projects and/or assignments as needed
- Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians and process engineers to meet production demands
- Drive continuous improvement projects with respect to equipment availability, cost reduction, and yield improvement
- Establish and manage the spare parts to meet repair budgets
- Support cross functional problem solving, involving facilities, maintenance and process engineering
- Work with procurement and suppliers to select strategic equipment and ensure continuity of spare part supply and quality
- Manage installation, troubleshooting, and upgrading & startup of new or retrofit equipment while minimizing downtime
- Mentor and lead lower-level equipment engineering team members
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
Required Qualifications:
- Education –bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or related field
- BS + 4-5 years' relevant field experience OR MS + 2-4 years' relevant field experience OR PhD + 1-2 years' relevant field experience
- Understanding of troubleshooting electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Understanding of pumps, high vacuum systems, and RF generators
- Demonstrated effective problem solving and communication of action plans
- Travel - Up to 10%
- Fluency in English Language – both written & verbal
- Physical Capacity Demands – Ability to lift and carry parts up to 30 lbs., stand, or bend and crouch to inspect, or work on equipment in the clean room for extended periods of time
- Basic data analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills

Expected Salary Range
$85,000.00 - $146,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
