Company Overview:

Let’s be real—AI isn’t magic; it’s a tool, and it’s only as powerful as the systems, workflows, and most importantly the people powering it. Yurts is unlocking all of that unstructured, hard-to-find, disconnected data and turning it into a secure knowledge management platform that’s actually designed to serve people—wherever they work.

Born from a partnership with the Department of Defense to meet the demands of mission-critical environments, Yurts is redefining how teams harness AI for productivity and performance. Named after the resilient, adaptable yurt, our platform is designed to work with the systems you use—not replace them.

In collaboration with Nvidia, HPE, and Oracle we offer secure, innovative solutions, including air-gapped deployments for defense, a full ML ops analytics framework to drive cost efficiencies and a world-class proprietary RAG system serving answers you can trust. Yurts unifies applications, data, and workflows protecting investments and saving customers money.

We’re looking for bold thinkers and doers to join us in redefining how teams harness AI for productivity and performance. Be part of building solutions that elevate both technology and the people who use it. Together, we’ll shape the next generation of secure, human-centered AI innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment of the Yurts product in US government compute environments using Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes/Docker, and related technologies.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain an installer for installing our software in an on-prem environment, reusing as many components as possible between that and the cloud version.

  • Develop automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, backing up, patching, and deploying services.
  • Preparing packages required for Authorization to Operate (ATO), Certification to Field (CTF), and other security requirements presented by US Government Risk Management Frameworks (RMF).
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities for mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with product DevOps Engineers to establish best practices and company-wide guidelines.
  • Work closely with the software engineering team to integrate their project deliverables into customer production cloud and/or on-prem environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and work with customers, partners, and internal development teams to identify root causes and resolve them.
  • Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Stay current with new technologies and recommend innovative solutions that increase value and improve efficiency.
  • Enforce compliance with security best practices and policies.
  • Participate in the creation of the company's strategic IT roadmap.
  • This position may require travel depending on your location.

Qualifications:

  • An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence SECRET clearance, with a willingness to obtain a TS/SCI if needed.
  • A BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience as a DevOps or DevSecOps Engineer, or equivalent software-engineering role.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Extensive experience leading deployments of applications to Azure Cloud environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, partner vendors, end users, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience delivering software to multiple environments using Ansible or similar automation and configuration management technologies.
  • Experience writing and leveraging infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
  • Working knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL, and related data structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (i.e Bash, Python).
  • Experience building deployment systems for rapidly developing and changing applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
