What you’ll be doing:
As part of our IP Product Engineering team, you will be a valuable contributor within as a Principal Database Engineer. You will work directly with the dev team to identity the design needs of the new or modified application features and production sustainment. The Principal Database Engineer will have a seat at the table in all meetings such as project planning, estimation, standups, and stakeholder show & tell.
· Oversee and manage all IP database implementations, including design, architecture, implementation, and ongoing support and compliance.
· Participate in active discussions or product specific standups regarding new features for future projects.
· Contribute to the Architecture/Design framework.
Job Requirements
· Provide after hours support for Critical customer DB related outages when needed.
· Be available for after-hours maintenance windows when needed.
· Able to work in US Hours or at least have some overlap.
What General skills you’ll need:
· Experience in MS SQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB and PostgreSQL in both Enterprise and Cloud (Azure, AWS and GCP) deployment models.
· Experience with setting up Elastic Pools
· Experience with Big Query and Cloud No-SQL database services.
Experience in configuration, installation, cloning and upgrades of DBMS.
Experience in managing multiple databases on large systems.
Experience in multi-tasking on multiple projects at once.
Setup, administer and migrate Reporting Services.
Experience working with SQL Profiler and system DMVs.
Experience in backup, restore, DR procedures.
Experience in SQL Server Replications.
Experience working with HA environments (Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, AlwaysOn).
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Communicate effectively with team members, team leads, and on occasion with clients.
Organize and prioritize individual workload in order to meet required deadlines.
Familiar with Agile methodologies.
Experience in Software Development a plus.
What Advanced skills you’ll need
Experience in monitoring and tuning databases
Proficient in writing SQL Queries and Stored Procedures
Advanced TSQL tuning is desired.
Experience with setting up Disaster Recovery setup within different Cloud Regions.
Experience with Sql Development as code
