- As a Principal, Consultant, your impact comes from strong technical leadership, supporting the development of others, and contributing to improvements in TEECOM’s systems and discipline practices. You contribute in three key ways:
- You elevate project outcomes by leading technical decisions and ensuring design quality, coordination, and documentation meet TEECOM’s standards.
- You guide Designers, engineers, and production team members by providing clear rationale, helping them navigate design challenges, and reinforcing disciplined workflows.
- You build trust with clients through clear communication, reliable follow-through, and a strong command of your discipline.
- You strengthen project teams by coaching engineers and Designers, developing their judgment, and helping them improve design clarity and documentation quality.
- When serving as a Mentor, you broaden your mentee’s experience by involving them in client conversations, site walks, design reviews, and documentation discussions.
- You accelerate their growth by setting clear expectations, delegating meaningful work, and providing timely, constructive feedback—including through participation in quarterly performance assessments.
- You reinforce firmwide consistency by contributing to discipline standards, templates, and documentation through clear, well-organized Pull Requests.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Supervisory / Mentorship / Training Responsibilities
- Supervisory: When serving as a Mentor, you provide structured coaching and quarterly performance feedback for assigned mentees. You support discipline execution across projects by aligning Designers, engineers, and production team members with priorities, scope, and TEECOM standards, while surfacing dependencies, risks, and resourcing needs to Project Leads, Group Leads, or Team Leads for broader action.
- Mentorship: Provide advanced technical guidance and design direction to Designers, engineers, and production team members. When paired as a Mentor, you broaden your mentee’s experience through design reviews, client discussions, and complex coordination challenges, reinforcing strong engineering judgment, documentation habits, and disciplined workflows.
- Training: Contribute to discipline training by sharing lessons learned, participating in internal reviews, and supporting the development of training resources that improve technical consistency and delivery quality across teams.
Experience and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in AEC or related professional services with strong discipline-specific capability.
- Demonstrated experience delivering coordinated, high-quality designs and making sound decisions within your discipline. (Telecom/ICT, Structured Cabling, Low Voltage)
- Ability to lead discipline-specific portions of complex, multi-stakeholder projects with minimal oversight.
- Strong understanding of project delivery workflows, client expectations, documentation standards, and coordination requirements.
- Experience contributing to documentation updates, design standards, and QA/QC workflows through GitHub or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit), Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
