Responsibilities and Expectations

- Lead complex technical design, coordination, and documentation across multi-discipline projects.
- Conduct advanced design reviews and QA/QC efforts that reinforce technical excellence and reduce risk.
- Advance discipline standards through high-impact Pull Requests and documentation updates that improve clarity and efficiency.
- Maintain disciplined project controls—including billing accuracy, scope validation, AR oversight, and coordination with Project Leads and Group Leads.
- Maintain accurate time and expense entries and, when serving as a Mentor, reinforce strong documentation and reporting habits.
- Participate in Engineering meetings, manufacturer engagement, and cross-team discussions to maintain technical alignment and stay current on industry advancements.
- Drive technical alignment across projects through client, coordination, and internal meetings—clarifying priorities and surfacing risks early.
- Lead technical guidance through design reviews, markups, and real-time feedback that strengthen coordination and delivery quality.
- Lead and support pursuits by shaping technical strategy, refining scope assumptions, contributing to fee development, and participating in interviews.
- Maintain disciplined documentation across GitHub, Asana, Callback One, and the Design Decision Log (DDL) to ensure clarity and traceability.
- Communicate proactively with clients, design partners, and contractors to maintain alignment and momentum.
- Maintain visibility into project health—including scope, schedule, financial performance, and coordination readiness—and recommend adjustments when risks emerge.
- Oversee discipline design, coordination, and production with strong technical judgment while reinforcing TEECOM workflows and standards.
- Maintain accurate time, expense, and project updates that support forecasting, billing, and delivery visibility.
- Support Additional Service Agreements (ASAs), scope adjustments, and proposal development to maintain alignment between delivery realities and contractual expectations.
- Strengthen client relationships through strategic discussions, industry events, and thought-leadership activities.
- Contribute to recruiting, mentoring, and team development through interviews, coaching, and participation in initiatives that strengthen TEECOM’s technical capability.
- Conduct site visits, field verifications, and programming sessions as required, documenting findings clearly to support coordinated delivery.
- Lead or contribute to firmwide initiatives, knowledge-sharing, or special projects that advance TEECOM’s systems, standards, and culture.
Supervisory / Mentorship / Training Responsibilities
- Supervisory: When serving as a Mentor, you provide structured coaching and performance input for assigned mentees. You identify risks, cross-project dependencies, and resourcing trends and collaborate with Group Leads and Team Leads to inform workload planning and delivery strategy.
- Mentorship: Serve as a senior mentor and technical role model for engineers and production team members. You coach through complex technical and coordination challenges, reinforce accountability to standards, and develop others’ judgment and decision-making. You provide clear, actionable feedback, track progress over time, and help shape the next generation of technical leaders.
- Training: Lead discipline-level training and knowledge sharing by defining learning priorities, developing and delivering advanced training content, and ensuring standards are clearly documented and understood. You lead design reviews, author and refine documentation, and elevate technical and documentation quality across the discipline through structured, repeatable training and coaching.
Experience and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent experience; advanced degree (MS or MBA) a plus.
- Experience: 12+ years of experience in AEC or related professional services with demonstrated discipline-specific leadership. (Telecom/ICT, Structured Cabling, Low Voltage)
- Preferred: Experience leading complex, multi-discipline projects and providing technical guidance, QA/QC oversight, and mentoring to Designers and engineers.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, coordinated designs and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous environments.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, client expectations, documentation standards, coordination requirements, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to documentation, standards, QA/QC workflows, and system improvements through GitHub Pull Requests.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit), Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
