1. Global Category Strategy & Market Leadership
- Own and define global category strategies for capital equipment (e.g., Etch, Wet Process, CMP, Deposition, Implant, Fab Support, Photo, Metrology).
- Lead market intelligence, including: Supplier landscape & capability mapping, Technology roadmaps & inflection points, Pricing models and long-term cost curves.
- Shape dual-source / alternate-source strategies and supply base optimization to mitigate concentration and continuity risks.
2. Executive-Level Supplier Relationship Management
- Act as Micron's primary commercial lead for strategic capital suppliers, executive reviews, and escalation governance with supplier executives.
- Drive alignment on Capacity commitments, Technology enablement and Long-term partnership frameworks.
3. Complex Commercial Negotiation & Contracting
- Lead high-stakes, multi-year global negotiations, including: Tool pricing & framework agreements, Volume leverage & node-based cost downs, Service, spares, and lifecycle cost structures.
- Apply should-cost, total cost of ownership (TCO), and global benchmarking models to negotiations.
- Own strategy, governance, and renegotiations as market or capacity conditions shift.
4. Cost, Value & Business Impact Ownership
- Deliver repeatable cost and productivity impact across: Capex and Tool productivity and uptime levers.
- Drive multi-year savings roadmaps.
5. Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Partner tightly with TD, OCT, Fab Engineering and Operations, Planning and
Finance.
- Influence sourcing strategies, and technology gate readiness from a commercial and risk perspective.
- Serve as Procurement subject matter expert and thought leader, shaping decisions beyond traditional buying.
6. Leadership as Individual Contributor
- Operate as a role model Principal IC, setting standards for Strategic thinking
Executive communication and Data-driven decision making.
- Mentor Staff and Senior CSMs on Negotiation strategy, Market intelligence and Supplier engagement maturity.
- Lead complex global initiatives without direct people management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business
- 5+ years in Capital Procurement, Engineering, or Category Management (semiconductor preferred).
- Deep domain expertise in capital equipment economics and supplier behavior.
- Demonstrated success in global negotiations and category leadership.
- Strong executive presence; comfortable engaging SVP/CEO-level supplier leadership.
