About the role:
Principal Business Manager, Lending Products will lead the underwriting strategy for our existing and new lending products. You will directly report to the Head of Credit & Analytics and be a critical part of the leadership team. You will be setting
the vision & roadmap for our lending products, defining the details of our product strategy and requirements, and overseeing the build & execution of our products leading a cross-functional team, and partnering closely with other departments & external partners.

This is a combined strategy & analytics and product management role, where you will have to combine deep understanding of credit dynamics & analytics ability with product management skills. This is a zero to one opportunity, creating Remitly's lending business from scratch! This role is based in Arlington, VA (Washington DC metro area).

You Will:

  • Be accountable for the product strategy and development of our new lending products: establishing product market fit with new lending products with economic viability; maximizing demand, conversion, and integrated lifetime Remitly value of our customers.

  • Define and drive organizational alignment on the vision, multi-year learning agenda and roadmap for our lending product development, testing and growth efforts.

  • Own the exploration, development and testing of different lending product structures, features and pricing; working closely with Engineering, Credit Analytics and Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, as well as external bank partners & technology providers:

  • Open-ended line and closed end loan structures

  • Pricing structures including membership fees, fixed fee rates, APRs

  • Different payment frequency & term options

  • Different customer benefits, features and experiences

  • Own the customer and competitive research, as well as testing and analysis to maximize customer demand and conversion, reduce customer churn, while maintaining effective credit & fraud risk management and strong returns

  • Own the product roadmap and delivery, including management of dependencies with internal and external partner organizations.

  • Own the broader organizational updates and socialization of our product roadmap, delivery and business performance

  • Build and lead a team of product managers and analysts that will own our lending product strategy and development; from strategic ideation, evaluation & definition of detailed intent requirements to execution & monitoring of our products.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in strategy roles

  • 5+ years of professional experience leading product development and growth efforts for credit products

  • 5+ years of professional experience recruiting, managing and developing teams

  • Experience in managing development and growth for credit products

  • Highly customer centric, always working back from the customer needs and hypotheses when creating products, or optimizing strategies.

  • Ability to balance quantitative and qualitative considerations

  • Bachelor's or master's degree

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $164,000-$205,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
