Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Principal Business Management Analyst to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. This position may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications below.


What you get to do:

  • Set up cost control systems and monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost/schedule control system
  • Prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and perform and/or assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis
  • Perform analyses and prepare reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
  • Prepare program plans to ensure program requirements and statements of work are captured and scheduled.
  • Monitor funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding.
  • Conduct cost analysis to develop EACs, generate financial inputs, and support monthly cost and schedule reviews.
  • Assist CAMs with EVMS activities, including WBS alignment, time-phasing of tasks, developing and documenting earned value methodologies, monthly performance measurement, estimate-to-complete analysis and updates, and variance-analysis research and reporting.
  • Incorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines
  • Perform miscellaneous financial analyses as required.
  • Continually assess and improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and participate in month-end financial reporting close activities.
  • Travel required: 10%.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 5 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related industry experience, OR  a Master's degree with 3 years of experience OR a PhD with 1 Year experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including MS Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Experience with one or more of the following: SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Cobra/MPM, MS Project/Oracle Primavera, or other scheduling software tools
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree and/or experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Program Cost Analysis or Program Scheduling
  • Experience with non-contractual technical activities (NCTA), including internal research and development, marketing, selling, and bid/proposal work.
  • Experience with Forecasting, NCTA portfolios, variance analysis, and change management
  • Deltek Cobra
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) Principals and applying Earned Value Techniques in an Aerospace & Defense environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
