This role is within Chamberlain Group's Brand and Communications function within Marketing. The Principal, Brand Strategy and Activation will lead the development and execution of comprehensive brand strategies that strengthen the organization’s market position and drive business growth. This role is responsible for maintaining and evolving the brand architecture, and ensuring clarity and alignment across all sub-brands and business areas. This role will champion brand identity systems—visual, verbal, and experiential—ensuring cohesion, authenticity, and consistency across all channels and touchpoints. Working cross-functionally with the digital, communications, creative, and business teams, this individual contributor will guide the articulation of brand positioning and narrative, ensuring that strategic objectives translate into compelling and consistent brand experiences. The Principal will serve as a steward of brand governance, embedding brand principles into organizational processes and fostering a culture of brand excellence.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the company's vision and values; ensure brand consistency across all channels and customer interactions.

  • Work with internal and external resources to lead the creation and internal socialization of comprehensive brand guidelines including brand narrative, visual identity, verbal identity and tone of voice across marketing teams, external agencies and consultants, the customer experience team, product development, talent and recruitment teams, sales teams and other cross-functional partners.

  • Manage brand programs and campaigns from strategy to execution, including collaboration with external agencies and internal teams to ensure alignment and excellence.

  • Collaborate with design teams or agencies to translate brand strategy into visual elements, including templates, logos, color schemes, and visual design guidelines; oversee the consistent implementation of the brand identity across all touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive and recognizable brand presence.

  • Develop and steward comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the brand narrative and engages our target audience across various channels; collaborate with content creators to produce compelling and consistent messaging that reinforces the brand identity.

  • Craft compelling brand narratives and messaging that resonate with our target audience; collaborate with design and content teams to create engaging storytelling content, ensuring a consistent brand voice across various platforms.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand alignment across all aspects of the business; communicate brand strategy effectively and provide guidance on brand-related decisions.

  • Work with marketing sciences to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of brand initiatives; monitor brand performance, analyze data, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Collaboratively with Marketing Sciences, conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape, informing brand strategies.

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

  • Minium Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or social sciences 

Minimum Qualification
  • 7+ years' experience in brand development, marketing or brand strategy, brand consulting or strategic planning 

  • CPG Brand experience highly preferred

  • Robust business acumen, including domain-specific knowledge of the industry and the competitive landscape   

  • Strategic thinker with good understanding of brand, brand development, user experience and human behavior    

  • Deep understanding of people and culture, while demonstrating an ability to translate customer insights into actionable brand marketing strategies   

  • Knowledge and experience with brand strategy planning and execution 

  • Strong creative thinking and design sensibility, with an eye for visually appealing merchandising displays.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate and convey brand messages effectively.  

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform decision-making.  

  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.  

  • Stay informed about brand trends, emerging technologies brands, and best practices in brand strategy. 

  • This role is based in Oakbrook.

The pay range for this position is $129,700.00 - $209,200.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
