MetLife is seeking a Principal Architect to support enterprise and solution architecture across the US portfolio. You will report to the Chief Architect for US Technology and be responsible for delivering architectural roadmaps and solution architectures aligned to one or more US business portfolios. In this role, you will lead the architecture of enterprise solutions spanning multiple domains including digital channels, security, integrations, data, AI, cloud and infrastructure across a diverse set of technologies. Working in Enterprise architecture gives you the opportunity to influence alignment to enterprise strategies and standards by building relationships across business, technology and enterprise partners.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3-year roadmaps aligning Line of Business strategic and tactical needs with modern enterprise architectures.
- Delivers fit for purpose, secure, scalable, architectures in an agile framework that evolves with the line of business via collaboration with AD teams, business, and engineering across all levels of the organization.
- Domain expert and technical authority within US Insurance organization with demonstrable hands-on skills.
- Enable AI based solutions aligned with enterprise standards
- Utilize Cloud technologies preferably Azure to enable PaaS centric enterprise solutions.
- Keeps abreast of current and future technology trends especially those fit for purpose for the LOB.
- Provide leadership in developing standards, architectural patterns, ensuing architectural governance and best practices.
- As a technical leader, by example you will mentor junior architects capabilities to apply modern technology and technique for enterprise solutions.
- Evangelize and raise the bar technically of the whole US Technology Architecture organization through training, publishing, and mentoring.
Key Relationships:
Reports to: Director of US Technology Architecture
Key Stakeholders: CIO US Technology, Portfolio leads across US Technology(Life, Dental, Disability, Voluntary, MetLife Holdings, etc)
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (CS, EE, ME, Math or equivalent)
- 10+ years' experience designing, engineering, delivering, and architecting enterprise business solutions
- Experience architecting enterprise solutions in cloud including IaaS, SaaS and PaaS technologies
- Experience designing and engineering across multiple technology domains including application, data, security, cloud/infrastructure and AI
- Recent applied experience delivering solutions through Agile methodology, preferably SAFE
