Job Description

As a Principal Architect, you will be a technology leader within the Architecture function at SEEK, taking ownership of defining and driving the architecture strategy for Business Enablement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders, to design and implement architecture solutions that enable SEEK’s core business functions, such as Finance, HR (P&C), Workplace Technology, and ERP.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that SEEK's technology landscape—spanning corporate applications, business processes, and systems—is aligned with business goals, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective. You will also drive key technology initiatives, ensuring that architectural decisions support SEEK’s growth, transformation, and global operations.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be accountable for the technical alignment, health, capability, and effectiveness of SEEK’s corporate systems. You will work closely with teams across the business to deliver strategic technology solutions that support SEEK’s objectives. The purpose of the Business Enablement squad within the Platform Architecture team is to develop and implement an architectural strategy that effectively supports SEEK's business processes and operations, while enhancing engagement and productivity for all team members.

The Architecture function at SEEK consists of two key domains: 

1. Platform Architecture Domain : Support the efficient and effective delivery of SEEK’s Product and Business objectives by designing platform capabilities that can be easily leveraged across the organisation.

2. Customer Architecture Domain : Enable the efficient and effective achievement of SEEK’s OKRs and customer value by developing and aligning the architecture strategy for the end-to-end customer journey with product objectives and ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Leadership: Define and drive SEEK’s architectural strategy for Business Enablement systems, focusing on core functions such as Finance, HR, and Workplace Technology.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product, business, and technology leaders to understand business goals and ensure that technology solutions are aligned with these goals.
• System Health & Standards: Assess and maintain the health of SEEK’s technology landscape, applying architectural standards to guide technology decisions and investment.
• Design & Roadmaps: Lead the design of strategic roadmaps and architecture solutions for key systems, including Workday, Oracle, payroll, Office 365, Slack, Atlassian, Zoom, and more.
• Cross-functional Engagement: Engage with engineering, product, and business teams to influence requirements and design solutions that align with SEEK’s technology standards and strategic direction.
• Execution Support: Ensure the successful execution of initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams to address challenges and ensure alignment with architectural goals.
• Coaching & Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to Solution and Project Architects, ensuring alignment with architecture principles and driving continuous growth of technical capabilities across teams.
• Platform Health: Ensure that systems are reliable, resilient, and cost-effective, contributing to the overall health of SEEK’s technology landscape across APAC.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the broader Architecture community to evolve architectural policies, frameworks, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Principal Architect or in a senior technical leadership role, ideally with experience in corporate applications, ERP, HR systems, Finance, and Workplace Technology.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of business architecture and technologies such as Workday, Oracle, payroll, Office 365, Slack, Atlassian, and Zoom.
• Leadership: Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring technical teams and driving complex initiatives.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including business leaders, product owners, and engineering teams.
• Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and drive long-term strategic roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards.
• Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across teams and ensure transparency in decision-making processes.
