Principal Application Engineer

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

We are seeking a Principal Application Engineer to join the team. This role is responsible to provide product, and application development to create technical solutions that would meet customer requirements through customization of hardware and software. You will report to Medo, our NPI Products Manager.
You Will Make an Impact by:

• Providing both pre-sales and post-sales technical product marketing support for the development and implementation of customer applications dealing with complex products, such as operating systems and capital equipment
• Making technical presentations regarding all aspects of company products Assisting sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications
• Implementing detailed customer installation requirements
• Providing follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications to service personnel, company sales representatives, and customer’s employees.
• Travel Requirements: up to 75% of travel is required

Skills You Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering/science is required
• A significant related experience and a strong technical knowledge of company products
• Background in semiconductor, optical systems, laser applications and systems assemblies is essential for our job
• Experience with analytical and process instrumentation
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer interaction and internal team collaboration skills are essential. This dual focus on external and internal collaboration underpins the role's success in driving business development and technical innovation and is a skill that will be prioritized in recruitment.

• Adhere to established development standards, safety policies and procedures
• Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
• Determines methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance and coordinate activities of other personnel
