What you'll do:

This Principal Analyst I role serves as the operational and analytical lead for API Governance, focusing on API inventory accuracy, data quality, governance reporting, KPI/KRI management, governance control execution, findings remediation, audit support, and continuous improvement of enterprise API governance processes.
As a Principal Analyst I, you'll lead activities to review current processes and metrics that support operational effectiveness, identify constraints or opportunities that inhibit or accelerate the business and technology strategy. You'll develop options or approach to improve business outcomes, and drive implementation of solutions to achieve desired results. You'll also be accountable for the development and review of artifacts to ensure they accurately describe current state processes, practices, and/or metrics, determining root cause for constraints in the process. Additionally, you'll take part in the identification of alternative processes and practice options with associated impact on KRIs/KPIs or Operational Metrics. You'll also track and communicate enhancements to the current process and practices as to whether the desired results are being realized using data, metrics, and other quantitative measures. Additionally, as the Principal Analyst I, you'll engage with enterprise subject matter experts and stakeholders to tackle complex issues or opportunities that require significant coordination and alignment across different business units. You'll be accountable for understanding the problem statement or opportunity, capturing current state insights while also providing options and recommendations to the identified stakeholders. In this role you'll also identify, socialize, and gather necessary approvals for the upkeep of, KRIs, KPIs, and Operational Metrics.
  • Lead analysis and governance activities supporting the Enterprise API Governance Program, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technology strategy, risk management requirements, and operational standards.
  • Analyze and reconcile API inventory, metadata, and ownership information across enterprise platforms including ServiceNow CMDB, MuleSoft, Azure API Management, Developer Portals, monitoring platforms, security repositories, and other related systems. Investigate and resolve discrepancies including missing records, duplicate APIs, ownership gaps, stale assets, and inconsistent lifecycle information.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate governance KPIs, KRIs, operational metrics, executive dashboards, and scorecards that measure API inventory health, governance compliance, ownership accountability, remediation progress, and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of governance and data-quality issues, identify recurring trends, and recommend process improvements, control enhancements, and automation opportunities that improve inventory accuracy and governance maturity.
  • Execute enterprise API governance processes and controls across the API lifecycle, including onboarding, periodic reviews, lifecycle management, standards compliance validation, and retirement activities. Review governance findings and determine appropriate remediation, exceptions, or corrective actions.
  • Partner with API Engineering, Architecture, Security, Risk, Platform Engineering, Application Development, and Technology Leadership teams to resolve governance findings, manage remediation activities, and ensure accurate API inventory and governance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain governance procedures, operational documentation, and audit evidence supporting effective control execution, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive execution and tracking of governance findings, exceptions, and remediation activities, ensuring timely resolution, validation, and escalation of outstanding risks where necessary. 
  • Present governance insights, inventory health metrics, data-quality trends, compliance status, and operational risks to leadership and governance stakeholders, providing clear recommendations to improve governance effectiveness and operational maturity.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced to expert in process and data analysis within one or two domains or functional areas with deep critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working as a SME across one or two domains or functional areas.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Occasional travel required.
