Principal AI-Native Product Engineer

Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil o Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil - Hybrid

Position Overview

Hunter Douglas is transforming how software, data, automation, and AI-driven products support our customers, dealers, manufacturing operations, commercial teams, and business functions. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and highly technical Principal AI-Native Product Engineer who can identify high-value business opportunities, rapidly develop innovative solutions, and deploy secure, scalable products that deliver measurable business outcomes.

In this role, you will own the complete product lifecycle from problem discovery and solution design to development, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly contribute to productivity, operational efficiency, customer experience, and digital transformation objectives across North America while helping establish a new model for AI-powered product engineering within Hunter Douglas.

What You'll Do

  • Identify high-impact business challenges across commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and corporate functions, and translate them into scalable digital solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications, workflow automation tools, APIs, integrations, and AI-enabled products.
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders, end users, and leadership teams to understand workflows, gather requirements, and validate solutions.
  • Leverage AI coding tools and modern agentic development workflows to accelerate product delivery while maintaining strong engineering standards.
  • Architect secure, scalable, maintainable, and reliable cloud-based solutions using modern development frameworks and cloud technologies.
  • Establish product success metrics, monitor adoption, measure business impact, and continuously iterate based on user feedback and operational performance.
  • Create reusable components, development standards, templates, and best practices to improve the speed and quality of future product development initiatives.
  • Mentor and influence engineers, analysts, and business technologists on AI-native development approaches, solution design, and engineering excellence.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, solution architecture, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience building and deploying production-grade applications used by internal or external customers.
  • Strong hands-on full-stack development experience using technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, C#, Java, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent platforms as part of daily development workflows.
  • Experience designing APIs, system integrations, database models, and cloud-native solutions in Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, security, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, monitoring, and production support.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define solutions, and deliver measurable business value.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in highly autonomous, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments while maintaining a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Advanced English Level
