BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION
The role sits within Capital Markets Operations supporting the Delta One (D1), Synthetic Prime Brokerage (SPB) and Stock Borrow and Lending (SBL) trading desks. The UK operations team are responsible for supporting the business alongside Toronto operations and aim to provide a seamless service to our business partners and clients. SPB and D1 are new products for CIBC in London, the candidate will help in defining operational processes to support both products.
JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
The focus will initially be on onboarding new clients and assist in defining the operational processes for a scalable flow. Implementing controls to manage risk and close out any control process gaps.
The role requires understanding of the front to back trade flow and full lifecycle trade management. The candidate will act as a subject matter expert for the business area and interact with the wider operations teams in Toronto. The candidate will be interacting with the trading desks and clients on a daily basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Act as primary operations point of contact for the SPB and D1 trading desks in London, partnering with global teams to resolve trade breaks or settlement queries.
- Provide oversight of the hedge settlements, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated in a timely manner.
- Manage Traiana allocations and post trade reconciliations for SPB clients.
- Provide operational client service to SPB clients.
- Ensure done with and give up swaps are booked in a timely manner.
- Agree swap cash flows with clients and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in corporate event queries and have a full understanding of the life cycle of a trade
- Responsible for the CBOE ETR flow ensuring bookings are reconciled and margin is covered
- A key focus for the organization is establishing strong risk management, all procedures and controls will need to be documented.
- Identifying opportunities to continuously improve straight through processing, collaborate with technology teams to implementation improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Provide guidance on up-coming regulatory changes which may impact SPB or D1.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Product knowledge - swaps/CFD, cash equities & other listed & OTC derivative.
- Experience in equities and Prime Brokerage.
- Excellent understanding of European and UK settlement.
- Ability to prioritize requirements.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills.
- Experience in dealing directly with clients via phone or email.
