Boundless Education is transforming current systems of education. We apply the renowned Finnish Curriculum, integrated with best pedagogical practices from around the world, to create a personalised, multi-age, skills-driven and strength-based system that is supportively led by educators as mentors.

The Lead Teacher drives the classroom experience, guiding children through personalised learning pathways and implementing Boundless Education's Questing framework. This is a leadership role within the classroom, responsible for the full learning journey of each child.

  • Ensure the duty of care for all children
  • Cultivate a sense of community and belonging
  • Foster holistic well-being, encompassing physical, social, and emotional health
  • Implement the Boundless Education Questing framework for authentic learning experiences
  • Guide children along personalised learning pathways
  • Provide routine updates to parents using technological tools
  • Establish goals with children and monitor progress with verbal and written feedback
  • Plan interdisciplinary lessons incorporating local experiences
  • Apply inquiry-based learning strategies
  • Maximise educational technology tools for learning
  • Lead conferences and collect data for end-of-cohort Growth Trackers
  • Collaborate with colleagues to set high learning standards in a best-practice environment
  • Engage in continuous professional learning for personal and educational growth
  • Build strong connections with parents and carers

General requirement

  • Excellent English language skills; Spanish is a strong advantage for this location
  • Living in Barcelona or nearby, and able to commute daily
  • Minimum three years of full-time classroom experience
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced and evolving environments
  • A clear and effective communicator
  • Experience with inquiry-based educational programmes and collaborative teams
  • Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse learners
  • Special needs expertise is a great plus
  • Knowledge of child safety, psychological needs, research-supported instructional techniques, and assessment strategies


Educational Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Primary Education, or a closely related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification or licence that permits you to teach at primary level — for example a PGCE, QTS, a state or national teaching licence, a Bachelor of Education, or an equivalent recognised in your home jurisdiction
  • Qualification to teach the 6–12 age range specifically (primary, elementary, or middle years)
  • Degrees and qualifications obtained outside Spain must be recognised or eligible for recognition; we are happy to advise on this during the process

Preferred

  • A Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Special Educational Needs, Child Development, or a related discipline
  • Formal training or certification in an inquiry-based or child-centred pedagogy — for example IB PYP, Montessori (AMI or AMS), Reggio Emilia, or IPC
  • Familiarity with, or formal study of, the Finnish curriculum
  • Certification or postgraduate study in special educational needs, inclusive education, or learning support
  • Qualifications in teaching English as an additional language (such as CELTA, DELTA, or TESOL) given our multilingual cohorts
  • Current safeguarding or child protection certification, and current first aid or paediatric first aid certification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional learning — recent courses, accreditations, or research relevant to primary practice
