Job Description:
The Pricing & Reserving Actuary will lead the pricing analysis for Mexico insurance business. In addition to this, drive the development of new and innovative risk transfer solutions together with clients and brokers in Mexico. Work closely with underwriters to analyze the profitability of our portfolio and provide ad-hoc reports to management.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the pricing analysis insurance.
- Lead CAT modelling.
- Drive the development of new and innovative risk transfer solutions.
- Closely collaborate with Underwriters on technical assessment and exposure analysis for Specialty classes and complex risk and or high frequency losses.
- Help to build a comprehensive reserving process to include all stakeholders, with an emphasis on communication with claims, pricing, underwriting and finance.
- Develop tools to leverage reserving data in order improve underwriting performance and deliver insights and valuable MI to key stakeholders and senior management.
- Participate in broker and client visits, audits, and renewal meetings.
- Actively lead and contribute to business development projects with client and brokers.
- Coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analysis and reports on an ad-hoc basis.
- Take an active role in Everest Insurance actuarial community by leading and contributing to Group projects.
- Lead pricing reviews and provide constructive recommendations to senior management.
- Manage profit margins and lead analyses related to tracking and improving portfolio performance.
Skills & Competencies
- Actuarial, Math or Science related degree with excellent computer/data manipulation skills.
- Highly proficient in Excel, VBA and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SQL, R, PowerBI and ResQ is desirable.
- Strong technical and model building experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present and influence others.
- Willing to work in cross-functional teams.
- Capacity to communicate modelling processes and results with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through reports or presentations.
- An ability to plan work, manage time effectively and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
- Language Skills: Good English (written and oral) and Spanish language.
Professional Experience
- Solid experience in insurance pricing with good knowledge of P&C lines.
- Experience in business development, e.g. with an insurance broker
- Understanding of credit risk management topics.
- Knowledge of IFRS and Solvency 2 requirements.
