Main purpose

The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies, securing market access, and maximizing reimbursement potential for the company’s portfolio within Czech Republic. This role is critical in ensuring that the company’s products are optimally positioned to succeed in the market, aligned with both commercial goals and regulatory standards.

General responsibility

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including commercial, medical, regulatory, and external stakeholders. The Pricing Manager will work to analyse market conditions, build evidence to support pricing and reimbursement, and advocate for value-based pricing strategies to achieve sustainable access for patients.

Core job responsibilities and tasks

Develop and implement product pricing strategies that align with corporate and market-specific objectives:

  • Conduct comprehensive pricing analysis, including competitor pricing, market dynamics, and payer preferences.
  • Identify opportunities for price optimization and profitability improvements.

Market Access and Reimbursement (in collaboration with local external provider):

  • Lead efforts to secure and maintain product reimbursement, ensuring product availability in key accounts.
  • Develop and submit pricing and reimbursement dossiers to relevant authorities.
  • Build and present value propositions for the company’s products to healthcare stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g., payers, HTA agencies, KOLs).
  • Collaborate closely with government affairs, regulatory, and medical teams to advocate for policy changes that support market access.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, providing strategic input on access, reimbursement, and policy matters.

Policy and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed on relevant local, national, and international policies affecting market access and pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and pricing requirements and align strategies with changes in the healthcare environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with commercial and marketing teams to align pricing strategies with market needs.
  • Support sales teams by providing pricing strategies, value messaging, and reimbursement information.

Coordinate with finance and operations to monitor pricing impact on profitability and revenue targets.

Accountability

  • Achievement of market access and pricing objectives.
  • Successful negotiation and implementation of pricing strategies that align with the company's goals.
  • Adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Effective communication and management of stakeholder expectations.

Required Qualifications and skills

          

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, health economics, business, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective market access and pricing strategies (with support of external provider)
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities, particularly in market research, pricing analysis, and health economics.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Negotiation Skills: Skilled in negotiation and advocacy to secure favorable outcomes with payers and authorities.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, pricing, and reimbursement frameworks within the region.
  • English language skills at negotiation level

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in market access, pricing, or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry in Czech Republic.
  • Proven experience in developing pricing strategies, securing reimbursement, and navigating complex regulatory environments, preferably in innovative pharma industry
