The Pricing Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational execution of pricing across the product portfolio, driving revenue growth and margin expansion through strategic pricing practices. This role defines and executes pricing strategy across products, regions, and customer segments, optimizing list pricing, discount structures, and pricing model design. They oversee day-to-day pricing operations, including discount governance, deal pricing, exception management, and the development of pricing policies, guardrails, and approval processes to protect profitability. The Pricing Director partners closely with Sales, Finance, Product Management, Supply Chain, and other key functions to ensure alignment between pricing strategy and go-to-market execution, while enhancing customer experience. They lead cross-functional pricing initiatives and system improvements, including pricing software updates and company-wide pricing communications. The role establishes and monitors pricing KPIs, linking pricing actions directly to P&L outcomes, and supports financial planning through forecasting, scenario modeling, and margin analysis. Your Responsibilities:
Lead a team to build a best-in-class Pricing organization from the ground up, driving an enterprise-wide pricing transformation and aligning strategy with operations to deliver financial results
Establish and execute Pricing Strategy across products, regions, and customer segments to maximize revenue, margin, and competitive positioning. Establish guidelines for new product introduction, list price management, standard discounting, buy-resell programs, and special programs. Evaluate and optimize list-price structure, tiered-pricing, and bundled pricing.
Oversee day-to-day pricing activities, including standard discounting, discount governance, deal pricing, and exception handling. Design and manage pricing policies, including discount thresholds, approval of workflows, and guardrails to protect margins. Ensure compliance with legal pricing requirements.
Train internal and external teams on how to engage with Pricing; Establish best practices and deliver company-wide pricing communications to the field.
Lead cross-functional team to improve pricing processes and customer experience. Collaborate with Product Marketing and Digital on the release of pricing updates and software improvements.
Collaborate closely with Finance, Supply Chain, and Product teams to ensure organization alignment on pricing strategy and execution. Collaborate with Sales leadership on go-to-market execution, including pricing guidance, negotiation support, and deal structuring.
Establish and monitor Pricing KPIs and demonstrate how Pricing actions tie back to P&L. Support Financial planning processes, including margin forecasts, pricing assumptions, and scenario modeling.
Provide pricing expertise and consultation to Daikin companies, ensuring consistency in methodologies, tools, and best practices while adapting to product and market differences.
Your Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience
10+ years of progressive experience in pricing, finance, or commercial strategy within an OEM, manufacturing, or durable goods environment; prior leadership of a pricing function required.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive organizational change, guide executive decision-making, and balance customer value with financial performance.
Experience leading pricing operations and transformation initiatives, including implementation or optimization of pricing systems (e.g., CPQ, ERP-integrated tools) and process standardization.
Proven ability to define and execute enterprise-wide pricing strategies across product portfolios, regions, and customer segments, delivering measurable revenue growth and margin expansion.
Deep expertise in OEM pricing structures, including list price management, discount governance, channel pricing (distribution/contractors), and large deal/exception management.
Demonstrated experience establishing pricing policies, guardrails, approval of workflows, and KPIs to ensure disciplined execution and profitability protection.
HVAC industry or general manufacturing industries preferred.
Ability to travel 25-40% of the time

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $113,800 - $193,900 + 20% bonus in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
