Position Overview

  

Doota Industrial America is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our growing accounting team.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone looking to begin a career in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting functions, data entry, invoice processing, account reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping. Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and timely.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Maintain organized financial records and accounting files.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate accounting information.
  • Create, update, and manage spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with project cost tracking and expense management.
  • Support month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and payments.
  • Provide general administrative support.

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts like double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with project managers and vendors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and payroll information with integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating across departments to support accurate financial reporting.

Preferred

  • Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or other accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

  • Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or other accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

Skills Required

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or financial operations experience
  • Demonstrated experience with full-cycle Accounts Payable
  • Experience in project cost tracking, cost allocation, or cost control
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and communications
  • Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Experience processing or supporting prevailing wage payroll, certified payroll, Davis-Bacon compliance, or government/public works projects
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, formulas)
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage reporting requirements and certified payroll documentation
  • Experience with ERP systems or construction accounting software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and payroll information
  • Ability to interpret wage determinations, labor classifications, and compliance documentation
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
