Provide services to support projects requiring certified payroll and prevailing wages within the company. This position will have heavy focus on federal, state and local government compliance as well as assisting with audits, subcontractor understanding and compliance for prevailing wages.
Reporting:
- Perform, compile, complete documents for submission to various agencies.
- Process certified payroll reports weekly and submit to general contractors, owners or Customer Service Specialist, as necessary.
- Enter certified reports and necessary compliance information into required online portals.
Preparation:
- Ensure company is in compliance with all DOL, prevailing wage requirements; educate project personnel and employees on same as needed.
- Establish relationships and provide guidance with project managers, lead personnel, general contractor, and owner personnel to facilitate successful project completion.
- Initiate and maintain new certified jobs in the ERP system.
- Review necessary contracts for compliance requirements.
- Review certified payrolls on all prevailing wage/compliance reporting projects.
- Track apprenticeship to journeymen ratios.
- Communicate and follow-up with subcontractor reporting requirements.
- Research and determine the correct rates applicable to projects.
- Create and maintain all rate agreements for new/existing prevailing wage projects.
Miscellaneous:
- Assist with union audits and identify resources and education to stay current with union contracts.
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and regulations ensuring compliance.
- Assist payroll team with rate updates and corrections as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/equivalent required.
- Construction experience preferred.
- Understanding of contracts with Davis-Bacon Act/prevailing wage/certified payroll/compliance requirements preferred.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with field staff, office staff, managers and outside vendors/customers.
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and advanced typing skills for data entry.
- Experience with ADP and IFS is preferred.
- Capable of maintaining important information confidential - extremely important for this role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
