Serve as substitute assistant teacher for a preschool classroom of 12–16 children, supporting Bible, academic, social and emotional lessons. Provide a warm, Christ-centered learning environment, supervise and manage children, assist with lesson prep, record-keeping, snack time, parent communication, and general housekeeping. May lead the class in the teacher's absence. Support the Preschool Minister in implementing program goals and partner with families.

The purpose of Third City Kids is to bring truth and love to the next generation of the Church. The Preschool Sub position will fill in and help lead a classroom with 12-16 children, alongside the classroom teacher. They will help the teacher conduct daily lessons, including but not limited to: Bible, academic, social and emotional.
Essential Job Functions
- Keep Third City’s Mission of LOVE•unlimited at the forefront of TC Kids plans and efforts.
- Work with TC Kids to develop and execute a strategy for partnering well with Third City families to raise Kingdom-minded Christ-followers.
- Create and execute goals with the direction of the Preschool Minister to ensure excellence in all TC Kids programming.
- Shall assist the teacher in providing a warm, nurturing, Christ- centered, safe and loving environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.
- Assists classroom teacher in supervision and management of preschool children.
- Interacts with, initiates, and encourages children in daily activities.
- Helps children control behavior using a Christ-centered, positive, consistent approach.
- Helps children grow to become independent.
- Helps prepare the learning environment as directed by teacher.
- Assists teacher in record-keeping and observations related to children's development, health and behavior.
- Prepares snacks and promotes integral learning during snack time.
- Maintains good communication with parents.
- Helps with general housekeeping tasks.
- Attends to needs of individual children with sensitivity.
- Helps teacher in other ways as needed.
- May serve as the substitute teacher if the head teacher is absent. In this event, the aide should perform the duties listed under the job description of substitute teacher.
