Preformulation and biopharmacy specialist
POSITION PURPOSE
To act as responsible preformulation and biopharmacy specialist for development projects – setting of preformulation strategy, full physical-chemical characterization of API, backward engineering, performing of preformulation experiments using patent non-infringing API solid forms, creation of file patent application. Responsibility to perform tasks and measurement using a specific technique or process with data interpretation, propose the innovations
WHAT THE JOB IS ABOUT / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
- Perform solid state analysis (IR, Raman, XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS) of active pharmaceutical substances and drug products
- Perform particle measurements of pharmaceutics using optical and electron microscopy and laser diffraction method
- Develop innovative methodologies and approaches for characterization of pharmaceutics
- Interpret data and provide scientific support to formulation development and manufacturing in troubleshooting
- Lead analyses of reference drug product and physical-chemical characterization of active pharmaceutical substances
- Collaborate with the project team on drug products development
WHAT WILL YOU NEED / QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
- Education: MSc or equivalent (minimum) or PhD (desirable) in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy or relevant scientific field
- Analytical thinking, result orientation, structured way of working
- Respect, Teamwork, Professionalism, Enthusiasm, Courage
- Experience in the field of pharmacy is of advantage
- Ability to work in cross-cultural teams, ability to work independently and to make educated decisions
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Scientific/technical writing skills
- Fluent English
