Brief Job Description: 

The Preferred Account Representative, General Contractors serves as the primary internal liaison for assigned general contractor accounts, delivering exceptional client management, cross-functional coordination, direct sales and pre-sales support across all Vertiv business verticals. This position supports the Senior Account Manager in cultivating and managing strategic relationships with assigned general contractor accounts. This role functions as the day-to-day point of contact for general contractor clients, ensuring contractual and operational documentation remains current, directing client inquiries to appropriate internal resources, and coordinating seamlessly across Vertiv's GSA, Channel, Federal, and Enterprise verticals. This is a client stewardship and account development role emphasizing relationship management, lead generation, and finding the path to closing sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and sustain productive relationships with assigned general contractor accounts, serving as a dependable and responsive point of contact for ongoing client needs
  • Make daily outbound calls to target decision makers
  • Works to achieve and surpass sales quota
  • Receive and manage all incoming bids from assigned accounts, ensuring timely and accurate routing to the appropriate internal teams and subject matter experts within Vertiv
  • Field pre-sales inquiries from clients, addressing initial questions and escalating complex technical or commercial matters to the appropriate personnel
  • Support the Senior Account Manager by triaging client questions and directing requests to the proper internal resources across all Vertiv verticals (GSA, Channel, Federal, and Enterprise)
  • Collaborates with offices to provide budgetary pricing and competitive/legacy cross-referencing
  • Maintain all required documentation, agreements, and account records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance for each assigned account
  • Develop and leverage cross-functional internal relationships to efficiently source answers, resolve client inquiries, and facilitate seamless communication
  • Proactively farm assigned accounts to uncover new business opportunities, mapping organizational structures, key stakeholders, and project pipelines as broadly and deeply as possible
  • Generates, updates, and tracks CRM opportunities
  • Prepare and maintain lead time sheets, providing clients with accurate and current product availability information
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive job lists, contact lists, and account documentation to support strategic account management activities
  • Navigate and coordinate across Vertiv's GSA, Channel, Federal, and Enterprise verticals to deliver cohesive service to general contractor clients
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively with clients, ensuring timely updates and a consistently high standard of responsiveness
  • Map assigned accounts to identify all relevant decision-makers, project managers, procurement contacts, and organizational influencers
  • Contribute to account strategy development by providing actionable insights on client needs, project activity, and competitive positioning
  • Execute additional projects and administrative tasks as directed by the Senior Account Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales or account management
  • Proven performance achieving / exceeding assigned sales quotas
  • Demonstrated success in business development
  • Must be computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office product suite
  • Highly accurate with good attention to details
  • Be willing to adapt to new ideas
  • Demonstrated highly motivated self-starter who can work well in a team setting or independently handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include fluent English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure technology, including software, hardware, and/or networking
