The Prefab Table Lead is responsible for leading the daily production of electrical prefabricated assemblies at an assembly table within a controlled shop environment.

This is a hands-on working lead position responsible for organizing the assembly team, coordinating materials, maintaining production flow, and ensuring electrical assemblies are built safely, accurately, and efficiently according to drawings, specifications, and established production standards.

The Assembly Table Lead serves as a key connection between the assembly team, warehouse, project management, and shop leadership to ensure materials and completed assemblies move through the prefab process efficiently and are ready for installation in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of employees assigned to the electrical assembly table.
  • Perform hands-on assembly of prefabricated electrical components and assemblies.
  • Assemble items such as electrical boxes, conduit assemblies, fittings, supports, wiring assemblies, whips, branch circuit assemblies, and other electrical prefab components.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, schedules, assembly details, and work instructions.
  • Organize daily production priorities based on project schedules and required quantities.
  • Assign work to team members and monitor progress throughout the shift.
  • Ensure assemblies are built consistently according to established standards and specifications.
  • Verify dimensions, components, connections, labeling, and overall quality before assemblies are released.
  • Identify missing, incorrect, or damaged materials and coordinate with the warehouse to resolve issues.
  • Maintain an efficient workflow at the assembly table to minimize downtime and material movement.
  • Monitor production quantities and communicate progress, delays, and issues to shop leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assembly methods, reduce waste, increase productivity, and eliminate unnecessary steps.
  • Train and mentor new and less-experienced employees on assembly methods, tools, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure employees have the proper tools, materials, drawings, and instructions necessary to complete their work.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to identify errors before they reach the field.
  • Coordinate completed assemblies for staging, labeling, and delivery to the appropriate project or jobsite.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain required production and quality documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Identify production problems early and take action to resolve them.
  • Hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Train employees to perform work correctly and consistently.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse, shop leadership, project management, and other prefab teams.
  • Look for ways to make the assembly process faster, safer, and more repeatable.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Electrical construction, electrical assembly, or electrical prefab experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical materials, components, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Previous experience working as a lead, foreman, or experienced electrical assembler preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize multiple production requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous electrical prefab or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience leading a production or assembly team.
  • Experience with conduit, electrical boxes, fittings, supports, wire, cable, and other electrical materials.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or standardized work practices.
  • Experience working from detailed shop drawings or BIM-based assembly instructions.

  • Ability to lift and move electrical materials and components.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and electrical prefabrication environment.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position means the assembly table consistently produces the right assemblies, in the right quantity, at the right quality, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical worker who understands production and takes pride in getting things done efficiently.
