Purpose of role
The Account Director is responsible for providing operational support to the Grayling Croatia’s leadership by managing a portfolio of clients and account teams, ensuring they deliver excellent results for our clients and Grayling. The role also includes contribution to business development initiatives.
Role description
- Expertise and knowledge to deliver strategic counsel and solutions to clients and shares this knowledge with the wider team, managing and supporting account team in the delivery of their roles
- Provides strategic communication consultancy to clients and uses the appropriate methods to develop strong working relationships
- Resolves client issues and has clarity about desired outcomes, escalating as appropriate and recommending best approach to account teams
- Implements crisis management techniques and advises on potential courses of action, providing support to the account teams
- Monitors new business opportunities, and cooperates with senior team in delivering new business leads to sell in additional Grayling products and services to clients
- Assists the account teams in setting KPIs and measurement metrics, using them to increase client satisfaction by addressing issues with the account team
- Fosters positive and supportive working environment, championing team achievements, empowering them to achieve their full potential
- Connects with colleagues from across the Grayling network, leveraging opportunities to work together for commercial benefit and to enhance professional development and learning
- Continually develops professional and management skills through training initiatives and learning opportunities
Scope
A range of account and budget responsibilities in local market (4-5 clients), with some international account relationships. Managing client relationships on a regular basis. Likely to manage 1 – 4 employees either as line or operational manager. Likely to coordinate key client initiatives across the SEE region.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Higher education at the graduate level (Public Relations, Journalism, Branding, Brand Management, or related fields)
- Has 5-7 years of experience in communication industry
- Has sharp business and PR acumen to quickly determine short and long term priorities for self and account team members to ensure all client needs are met
- Experienced in managing and working on a diverse range of accounts
- Strategic, analytical thinker with the initiative for overall account management
- Strong understanding of both traditional and digital public relations
- A desire to learn, improve, apply new knowledge and develop self
- Excellent grasp of clients’ marketplaces, audiences and routes to market
- Incisive, creative and strategic problem solver
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Croatian and English language
- Highly commercially astute and decisive
- Organised with ability to juggle multiple and changing priorities
- Self-aware and able to adapt personal style and approach to clients and team
- Calm and authoritative in response to issues or crisis
