GCyber is looking for a PowerBI Data Analytics Developer, to support a large Army customer. As the PowerBI Data Analytics Developer, you will be responsible for scripting, data extraction, correlation, and the development of custom automation workflows This role will focus on leveraging data from various cybersecurity tools (ACAS, HBSS, EDR) to develop and automate dashboards in Power BI. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills to integrate data sources through APIs and automate reporting and alerting workflows.
As the PowerBI Data Analytics Developer, you will:
- Data Extraction and Integration:
- Extract and correlate data from various cybersecurity tools such as ACAS/Tenable, HBSS/Trellix, MDE/EDR, and firewalls using APIs and custom scripts.
- Develop custom Python/PowerShell scripts for real-time data ingestion from these tools into Power BI.
- Automate the transformation and normalization of diverse data types (e.g., logs, vulnerability reports, endpoint data) using ETL processes.
- Custom API Integrations:
- Develop and maintain API integrations to securely connect cybersecurity tools with Power BI.
- Use ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ingest large volumes of raw data from multiple security tools and transform them for reporting.
- Automate data collection and reporting using custom connectors for Power BI to gather data from security tools and generate dashboards in real time.
- Dashboard Development:
- Design and build custom dashboards in Power BI to visualize key security metrics, including vulnerability management, compliance status, and POA&M tracking, with drill down capabilities for use by both Executive Leadership and information assurance analysts.
- Use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI to create complex calculations and conditional formatting based on compliance and vulnerability data.
- Implement drill-down capabilities in Power BI dashboards to allow security teams to analyze incidents and vulnerabilities at multiple levels of detail.
- Automation Workflows and Alerts:
- Automate alerting workflows by setting up Power Automate and Microsoft Flow to trigger alerts based on threshold values from ACAS scans or EDR detections.
- Build automation scripts for repetitive tasks, such as daily report generation, vulnerability scan result processing, and real-time compliance status updates.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze the security data to provide insights into vulnerability trends, compliance gaps, and areas of improvement.
- Produce periodic reports on key cybersecurity metrics, such as compliance adherence, incident trends, and risk assessments, using Power BI's reporting tools
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification or higher (https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications)
- 3-5 years of data analytics experience for the DoD, specifically focused on data extraction, integration, and custom dashboard development.
- Expertise in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating data extraction and processing.
- Strong experience in Power BI dashboard development, including building custom visualizations, integrating APIs, and automating workflows.
- Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, and advanced data modeling techniques in Power BI.
- Ability to develop and manage API integrations for real-time data flow between cybersecurity tools and Power BI.
- Experience in Power Automate and similar tools for automating security operations and alerts.
- Previous experience building compliance and vulnerability dashboards preferred.
