What will you do:
- Practical and Basic accounting knowledge and understanding in the following areas would be considered an advantage: Compensation and Benefits, Intangibles, Customer Receivable, Equity Investments, Accrue Liability, and Fixed Assets
- Ensure 100% of pension accounting deliverables are provided in an accurate manner, based on calendars and SOP’s requirement defined by the GE GAP prerequisites
- Be responsible to gather and prepare documentation, journal entries UPLOAD (MJE processing in SAP/CCL/Uniform) and other support to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting entries being recorded.
- Audit Compliance – support internal and external audit requests (Sox, Power External Audits and, depending in requirement Statusier audit)
- Review account reconciliations for directly responsible Gas Power pensions plan as other as deemed necessary by company codes which require strong familiarity with reconciliation principles and the Reconciliation Manager system. The reconciliation scope might extend to might include support
- Make/Supervise any corrections that need to be made to Power ledgers based on findings of reconciliations.
- Author and maintain standard operating procedures businesses impacting pension accounting , investments and other processes as deemed necessary.
- Validate pension HQ data, each quarter before data is moved to journal entry templates.
- Review Pension HQ system tool data versus General ledger to ensure tie outs . Follow up on missing information within the tool and work with the Pension accounting leader to ensure the tool is populated by responsible actuaries.
- Collaborate with corporate, actuarial firms, human resources, and other Power business partners in partnership with Lead Pension Technical Controller .
- Streamline and automate process where necessary with the support of the pension accounting lead and leader.
- Assist business partners in the Power business in compliance with pension, legal, NCI and OCI Cash Flow Hedge compliance requirements , investment audits , asset impairment and other duties.
- Build up and maintain strong working relationships with relevant functional areas within Power and Corporate.
- Support External audit requests that may arise from quarterly audit review
- Support Statutory external audit requests that may require assistance from the Technical non-commercial COE on US GAAP matter similar to IFRS
- Support business reorganizations, and carve-out that impact Power TCOE responsible activities and support overall simplification opportunities
What will you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the accounting field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
