We are looking for a talented Customer Engineering Product Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins in San Luis Potosí, S.L.P.
Job Summary:
The Power Generation Applications Engineer Senior serves as the senior technical liaison between distributors and our customers during the development of new power generation projects. Applying Cummins generator sets and power solutions requires the development of technical specifications, implementing new design configurations, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ needs in a variety of applications. Integrating high quality and optimized customer solutions requires interaction with sales, marketing, product engineering, and service teams.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- LATAM technical support for Power Generation, providing expert guidance for sales and generator projects, energy storage systems, and external audits.
- Support product selection, design, and integration decisions to meet customer and distributor performance and quality expectations.
- Apply standard processes such as sizing, project support during the pre-sales stage, as well as technical support during implementation phases.
- Build effective relationships with customer technical counterparts, supporting product specifications, change communication, and resolution of installation issues.
- Contribute to translating customer needs into product requirements and support voice of customer inputs in design and development discussions.
- Ensure products are correctly applied and installed, supporting validation of prototype performance and compliance with Cummins standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support customer-focused solutions.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers, technicians, and student employees, supporting knowledge sharing.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- More than 5 years as a Product Engineer and Application with experience in Generator Set Applications and Power Generation Solutions
- Product Portfolio Knowledge: Solid understanding of equipment specifications, capabilities, and limitations, including Power Generation, and generators.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Consultative Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, practical insights for customers, design, and sales teams.
- Problem Solving: Ability to support resolution of technical challenges during installation and operation, working effectively under pressure.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, mechatronics, automation, electronics and electrical.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
