Power Engineer

As a Power Engineer in Research and Development you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.   

As a Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following: 

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
• Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.
• Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
• Provide power & automation engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
• Assist in innovating power system protection & automation solutions.
• Author technical papers to present at technical meetings and conferences.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

This job might be for you if:

• You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• You have 2+ years' experience in electric power systems, automation & control practices, and philosophies.
• You have experience working in industrial and distribution power systems, and the ability to communicate those experiences.
• You have working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility or industrial plant.
