Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Ahamed Lab, in the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program is seeking a motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scientist to study the role of TGF-beta in organ fibrosis and cardiovascular disease. This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of molecular signaling, vascular biology, and translational medicine. Our research is grounded in a strong foundation of published work (Antioxid Redox Signal, 2021 [PMID: 34619980]; AIDS, 2020 [PMID: 32167970]; Blood Adv, 2019 [PMID: 30846427]; Blood, 2012 [PMID: 22134166]). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments related to TGF-beta signaling pathways.
  • Analyzing data using relevant molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques.
  • Collaborating with lab members and external partners to advance project goals.
  • Preparing manuscripts, figures, and presentations for publication and scientific meetings.
  • Contributing to grant applications and progress reports.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date laboratory records.
  • Participating in journal clubs, lab meetings, and other professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in in vivo mouse models with microsurgical procedures and ultrasound imaging techniques preferred.
