About your team

The Portfolio Strategist will serve as a senior, client-facing representative of Fidelity International’s investment capabilities across asset classes, with a particular focus on multi asset, fixed income, equity, and alternatives. This role is intended to strengthen Fidelity’s external investment voice across Asia ex-Japan, with a clear emphasis on the wealth channel in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, where there is significant overlap between regional and global wealth client relationships.

Internally, the Portfolio Strategist will act as a bridge between Investment, Investment Directing, Product, Marketing, and Distribution, ensuring that Fidelity’s investment views and fund positioning are translated into clear, consistent, and client-relevant messaging.

About your role
You will act as a credible and compelling spokesperson for Fidelity’s investment franchises. You will represent Fidelity’s market views, portfolio positioning, and investment philosophy to wealth clients, distribution partners, and other key market stakeholders. The expectation is to bring a level of external presence, credibility, and cross-franchise representation comparable to the strongest investment-facing market representatives in the industry. This role will work closely with the Distribution team on client pitches, events, idea generation, and strategic engagement initiatives, helping to support fund awareness, deepen client relationships, and enhance commercial outcomes in priority wealth segments.

In addition, you will be:

  • Representing Fidelity International’s investment capabilities across asset classes, with particular emphasis on multi asset, fixed income, equity, and alternatives, to clients and distribution partners in the wealth channel.

  • Act as a senior external spokesperson for Fidelity’s investment franchises in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, articulating market views, portfolio positioning, and investment philosophy in a clear, compelling, and commercially relevant manner.

  • Spend the majority of time in external engagement, including client meetings, distributor presentations, roadshows, events, panels, and other market-facing opportunities.

  • Work closely with Distribution teams on client pitches, event support, idea generation, and strategic engagement plans for priority wealth and intermediary relationships.

  • Build strong relationships with private banks, wealth platforms, intermediaries, fund selectors, gatekeepers, and other distribution partners, helping to position Fidelity as a trusted investment partner.

  • Deliver high-quality presentations, market updates, investment commentaries, and fund-positioning materials tailored to external audiences and aligned with Fidelity’s house view.

  • Translate complex investment ideas into clear, actionable messages that resonate with sophisticated wealth clients, distribution partners, and investment professionals.

  • Partner with Investment Directors, Portfolio Managers, Product, Marketing, and Distribution teams to ensure consistency and alignment in external investment messaging.

  • Capture and centralise regional client and distributor feedback, ensuring relevant insights are shared back into Investment, Product, and communication priorities.

  • Contribute to the development of Fidelity’s regional focus-fund agenda, thematic campaigns, and thought-leadership priorities, in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Support the overall client experience by ensuring timely, credible, and well-informed investment dialogue that enhances Fidelity’s visibility, relevance, and commercial impact in the regional wealth market.

About you

  • Extensive experience in asset management, wealth management, private banking, or a related investment environment, ideally in a role spanning investment communication, portfolio strategy, product strategy, or client engagement.

  • Strong cross-asset investment knowledge, with the ability to discuss macroeconomic developments, capital-market dynamics, and portfolio implications credibly across multiple asset classes.

  • Proven experience representing investment capabilities externally to clients, distributors, and senior stakeholders, ideally within the wealth channel.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, persuasive, and actionable messaging for client and distribution audiences.

  • Strong familiarity with the Singapore and Hong Kong wealth landscape, including private banks, intermediaries, fund platforms, and cross-border wealth relationships.

  • Experience working in close partnership with Investment, Investment Directing, Product, Marketing, and Distribution teams in a highly collaborative environment.

  • Excellent presentation and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality client materials under tight deadlines.

  • Strong commercial judgement and audience awareness, with the ability to balance investment depth, client relevance, and business priorities.

  • Confidence and credibility in engaging with senior stakeholders, including private banks, wealth CIO teams, distributors, fund selectors, and media partners.

  • Fluency in English is essential; Cantonese or Mandarin would be advantageous.

  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant analytical tools for market and fund analysis.

  • Collaborative, intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to contribute to the continued growth of Fidelity’s investment franchise in Asia.
