Who we are:
Apollo is a specialised independent (re)insurer, established in 2009, to deliver top-tier products and services to clients, brokers, and capital partners at Lloyd’s. The name "Apollo" was inspired by the achievements of one of its founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon in 1969. Together with Jim Hays, Neil identified an opportunity to create a unique service provider within Lloyd’s.
Since its inception as Apollo Syndicate 1969, the company has expanded its range of insurance solutions, offering everything from traditional and specialty lines to innovative sharing economy products and managing agency services at Lloyd’s. Today, Apollo continues to grow with a team of over 250 professionals dedicated to fulfilling the company’s mission of supporting a resilient and sustainable future.
“We attract and retain a diverse range of talent by fostering an inclusive, equitable team environment where individuals from all backgrounds have opportunities to grow, succeed, and contribute. We empower our teams to achieve excellence and drive forward-thinking solutions, aiming to enable a resilient and sustainable world.” - David Ibeson, Group CEO

  • Drive greater understanding of the data to achieve objective, evidence-based decisions.
  • Lead in actively monitoring portfolios to understand and quantify the main drivers of underwriting performance.
  • Develop a broad set of portfolio optimisation metrics, to give greater insight into commercial decisions and help maximise the return on capital.
  • Direct analysts to create a suite of data visualization tools and dashboards.
  • Ensure all decisions are clearly documented and auditable.
  • Maintain openness, integrity, and professionalism with all Apollo staff and with regulators.

What we are looking for:
