The Role:
Investment Analytics are responsible for developing custom solutions to help our front office stakeholders make better investment decisions.
We are seeking a portfolio analytics developer with the right blend of financial markets knowledge, data exploration, stats/maths and data visualisation skills to help us expand our analytics services to our stakeholders.
There will be significant focus on working directly with investment professionals to build and shape solutions that inform and add value to the investment decision making process, spanning multiple asset classes across public and private markets.
In the role, you will support the continued growth and use of analytics with asset management. Your key priorities will centre around generating new insights to support revenue growth related activity, getting ESG & sustainability views embedded within portfolio management processes and creating investment management tools to enable better decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable solutions to support investment decision making insights across multiple asset classes in an agile development environment.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables from various stakeholders ensuring end-to-end coordination as well as driving prioritisation through effective stakeholder management.
- Transform abstract investment ideas into tangible end-to-end solutions, accompanied by a delivery plan and gaining buy-in from stakeholders.
- Build and maintain a strong network with all key stakeholders in the Front Office, in particular the Private Markets business, but also sustainability focused teams, Technology & Transformation or any client facing team.
- Influence your direct stakeholders as you push forward our analytics agenda.
Experience and Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and asset management, 3+ years within asset management.
- Strong experience with a wide variety of asset classes and associated analytics (e.g. Equity, Fixed Income, Private Assets, Fund of Funds etc).
- Strong data exploration skills and experience of using various programming languages to derive insights from large data sets (e.g. SQL, Python, R).
- Strong understanding of relational databases (MS SQL Server) and proficient to advanced SQL.
- Proficient in data visualization and dashboarding to clearly visualise and explain information to stakeholders. Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Power BI and TIBCO Spotfire.
- Experience managing stakeholders, in particular Front Office personnel, and the ability to forge partnerships with the various investment desks.
- Proactive self-starter who can prioritise and manage their own workload with a solutions focused mindset.
- Relevant professional qualification: IMC, CFA, CQF preferred.
- Experience working with Blackrock’s Aladdin platform preferred.
