Job Description: Administrative oversight of the Buffalo Trace Point of Entry (POE) program

Role and Responsibilities

· Supervise and participate in the hiring of all Point of Entry (POE) staff in accordance with Kentucky Early

Intervention System (KEIS) policies and procedures.

· Monitor service coordination caseloads to ensure sufficient staffing and appropriate caseloads.

· Ensure all staff receive initial and on-going training and participate in all required training as determined

by KEIS and/or Comprehend.

· Facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure good communication within the program and opportunities for

peer-to-peer collaboration and support.

· Monitor, analyze, and ensure quality assurance around service provision and documentation, data

submission, meeting of all state indicators and performance standards, and overall contract compliance.

· Coordinate Child Find and community outreach activities to increase program referrals and awareness of

early intervention.

· Identify and address barriers to referrals and/or program enrollment.

· Develop and submit all required reports to KEIS and/or Comprehend.

· Attend all training and meetings as determined by KEIS and/or Comprehend.

· Establish and maintain relationships with local health and child-serving agencies, behavioral health

providers, and other POE stakeholders.

· Facilitate meetings of the District Early Intervention Council (DEIC).

· Serve as POE representative at community events and meetings as determined by KEIS and/or

Comprehend.

· Provide training to community partners and on First Steps services and/or early intervention as requested.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum entry level qualification established by the funding source is:

· Minimum highest entry-level requirements for one of the following approved professions: Audiologist;

Developmental Interventionist; Dietician; LMFT; LPCC; Licensed Psychologist; Certified Psychologist with

autonomous functioning; Licensed Psychological Practitioner; Certified Psychologist; Licensed

Psychological Associate; Nurse; Occupational Therapist; Ophthalmologist; Optometrist; Orientation and

Mobility Specialist; Physical Therapist; Physician; Sign Language and Cued Language Specialist; Social

Worker; Speech Language Pathologist (or interim licensed); Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Teacher of Visually Impaired ·

Minimum of four years of experience in an early childhood capacity or four years of experience in a community health agency that serves birth to five years of age · Management experience and/or First Steps experience preferred

Physical Requirements · Ability to set up information tables at community events which may entail some light lifting · Ability to visit individuals in their own homes as needed which may or may not be easily accessible

Special Requirements · Valid driver’s license with dependable transportation · 

Skills Required

  • Meet the highest entry-level qualification for an approved profession, such as nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, physician, social worker, speech-language pathologist, psychologist, teacher, or another profession listed by the funding source.
  • Four years of experience in an early childhood capacity or in a community health agency serving children from birth to five years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to perform light lifting when setting up information tables at community events.
  • Ability to visit individuals in their homes, including locations that may not be easily accessible.
  • Management experience and/or First Steps experience.
