Position Overview:

As part of the talented Navico Group Purchasing team, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement execution to ensure material availability, cost effectiveness, and compliance with company standards. This role manages purchase orders, MRP exceptions, and supplier coordination to support uninterrupted production. Key responsibilities include inventory optimization, excess and obsolete (E&O) reduction, and cost control through PPV and MOQ management. The position also ensures accurate item master data and regulatory compliance, while driving operational excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across procurement processes.

Primary Responsibilities

Purchase Order Management

  • Generate and manage accurate purchase orders aligned with MRP and approved requisitions.
  • Ensure completeness of specifications, pricing, delivery terms, and supplier details.
  • Confirm supplier acknowledgment and delivery commitments; proactively resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor open POs, expedite as needed, and manage changes (reschedules, quantity adjustments, cancellations).
  • Communicate updates cross-functionally and ensure timely PO closure.

MRP Exception Management

  • Review and prioritize MRP exception messages (e.g., shortages, delays, excess inventory).
  • Collaborate with planning, production, and suppliers to resolve issues and align supply with demand.
  • Execute changes to POs based on validated requirements.
  • Analyze recurring exceptions and recommend improvements to MRP parameters (lead times, safety stock, reorder points).

Invoice Management

  • Validate invoices against POs and receipts to ensure accuracy.
  • Resolve discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Track invoice status and support timely payment to maintain supplier relationships.

MRB & Supplier Quality Support

  • Participate in MRB reviews and support disposition decisions (return, rework, scrap).
  • Manage supplier claims, credits, and replacements for nonconforming materials.
  • Escalate recurring quality issues and minimize financial impact.

Inventory Optimization (E&O)

  • Monitor inventory to identify excess and slow-moving items.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement reduction strategies.
  • Coordinate disposition actions (scrap, resale, transfer) and maintain reporting.

Compliance (EH&S)

  • Ensure materials meet environmental and safety regulations (e.g., RoHS).
  • Obtain and maintain required supplier certifications and documentation.

Cost Management (PPV & MOQ)

  • Track and analyze purchase price variances; identify drivers and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Finance and Commodity teams on cost validation.
  • Optimize Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) to balance cost, demand, and inventory risk.

Inventory Planning Support

  • Review and adjust safety stock levels based on demand variability and supplier performance.
  • Support alignment to service level targets while minimizing excess inventory.

Item Master Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and standardized item master data in ERP systems.
  • Validate attributes (lead times, units, specifications) and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Job Specifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Syteline, MS Dynamics).
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and forecasting principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Professional certifications (CPIM, CPSM, CPP, or equivalent).
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., at a desk or workstation).
  • Constantly operates a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to regularly move about the facility.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and vendors.
  • Working hours will vary to support global organization 

The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.  In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
