Duties & Responsibilities:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to drive growth initiatives for our Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) product line? Viavi is looking for a Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Senior PNT Applications Engineer. You will work with commercial and military customers on functionality, integration and technical problem resolution and coordinate with our PNT Business Development, Sales, Product Line Management and Applications Engineering teams to grow our customer base.
Responsibilities:
Reporting
- Report directly to the Senior Director of Global PNT Business Development
Technical Expertise and Pre-Sales Support
- Deliver high-level technical expertise to customer engineers for OEM module integration
- Provide technical expertise to system managers, solution architects, and test/lab experts for box system sales through product presentations, demos and POCs
- Participate in POCs, RFIs and RFPs planning, scoping and delivery
Business Development and Sales Collaboration
- Collaborate with PNT Business Developers, Regional Sales Teams, Sales Representatives, Channel Partners and Customers to secure PNT business opportunities
- Support the Business Development and Sales teams by developing product presentations and collaterals
- Create new product documentation that fits evolving market requirements
Product Collaterals and Marketing Support
- Assist Product Line Management (PLM) and Marketing teams in creating sales and product collaterals (product presentations, product briefs, datasheets, quick-start guides, application notes, use cases, product battle cards, etc.)
Product Development Support
- Collaborate with PLM and R&D teams to develop MRDs that address significant business opportunities
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Required experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or a related field. A master’s degree in any of these fields is a plus.
- Technical PNT experience with both OEM modules and system level products
Desired experience:
- At least fifteen years of experience in the PNT industry including knowledge of customers and technology trends.
- Professional experience with GPS/GNSS timing, positioning and inertial navigation systems.
- Familiarity with wireless communication systems and RF performance testing.
- Experience with Linux and Python scripting.
