Summary of Role:

The IT Project Management Office (PMO) plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects that drive business value. As our organization transitions to a SAFe Agile framework, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PMO Operations Leader to join our growing team.

As the PMO Operations Lead, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, streamlining processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will work closely with the PMO Director, Portfolio Governance Leaders, and Project Managers to ensure smooth operations, efficient delivery of IT initiatives, and adherence to best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain robust operational processes and procedures to optimize PMO efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Oversee and manage the PMO’s tools and technologies, including project management software, collaboration tools, and reporting systems.

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify opportunities for process optimization and risk mitigation.
       

  • Agile Coaching

    • Promote adoption of SAFe standards, methodologies, and best practices.

    • Assist in the planning and execution of SAFe events, such as Program Increment (PI) Planning and Inspect & Adapt workshops.

    • Support the PMO’s transition to SAFe Agile by providing training, coaching, and guidance to team members.

    • Research and evaluate new tools, methodologies, and approaches to improve PMO efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Contribute to the development of the EPMO's long-term vision and goals.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
       

  • Team Support:

    • Act as scrum master for PMO team by facilitating scrum events and sprint planning, helping to drive clarity and execution.

    • Assist with the onboarding of new team members and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

    • Facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a positive team culture within the PMO.

    • Facilitate regular reporting of consolidated project status to senior leaders and portfolio sponsors.
       

Other Responsibilities:

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project leadership, agile coaching, or PMO operations.

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including waterfall and Agile (SAFe).

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, ServiceNow).

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A passion for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Scrum master certification desired

Expected Salary Range

$90,000.00 - $173,400.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
