Job Description

Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking an experienced PLM Engineer to join our Product Development Systems team. This role is responsible for the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of engineering systems and processes that support new product development across our portfolio of brands, including Moen, Therma-Tru, Master Lock, and others.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 3DExperience cloud-based PLM, CAD/engineering tools, and system integrations. A strong background in custom API development and process automation is essential to drive efficiency and scalability across our global engineering organization.

POSITION LOCATION: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of our North Olmsted, OH location. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in the configuration, support, and enhancement of PLM (3DExperience), CAD Software for a global user base across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Design and implement engineering change control processes and system integrations to improve product development speed, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, documentation, and reference guides to promote best practices and system adoption.
  • Architect and configure PLM workflows, external collaboration capabilities, and integrations between PLM, CAD, and ERP systems to support strategic business objectives.
  • Manage upgrades, maintenance, and support for engineering software tools including 3DExperience, SolidWorks, DriveWorks, and project management platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SolidWorks CAD software, ensuring optimal performance and user experience across the engineering organization.
  • Lead issue resolution efforts and proactively identify opportunities to improve system reliability, usability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with external consultants, vendors, and internal IT teams to deliver complex system initiatives.
  • Oversee production releases of new system features and enhancements, including testing, deployment planning, user training, and post-launch support.

 

 

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering or product development, including at least 2 years supporting CAD/engineering tools in a global environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PLM systems, with a strong preference for 3DExperience and SolidWorks, including data migration, upgrades, and workflow configuration.
  • Proven experience integrating PLM systems with ERP platforms (SAP or Oracle are preferred) and managing engineering change control processes.
  • Experience integrating data across systems using SQL and API development.
  • Familiarity with project and portfolio management systems, workflows, and collaboration tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in customizing 3DExperience using Java or other programming languages.
  • SolidWorks Certification such as CAD Design Associate/Professional/Expert (CSWA/CSWP/CSWE).
  • Knowledge of Stage-Gate product development methodology.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Office 365, and the Power Platform.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
  • Strong technical writing skills for documentation, procedures, and training materials.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $70,000 USD - $110,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
